AEON Environmental Foundation and Provincial Government of DKI 2018 Tree Planting Cooperation Activity 2018

Located at Pantai Indah Kapuk, on September 22nd, 2018, AEON Environmental Foundation and DKI Provincial Government collaborated on mangrove tree planting as part of the "60th Anniversary of Japan-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations" that held for 3 years 2018 to 2020, by planting as many as 30,000 mangrove trees.

In the first phase of the "Tree Planting in Jakarta, Indonesia" activity that had been carried out for 3 years from 2011 to 2013, the AEON Environmental Foundation together with 5,100 volunteers planted 63,000 mangrove trees in the area adjacent to the location of the second phase of tree planting.

Mangove tree planting involves 1,000 volunteers from both countries to plant 10,000 mangrove trees which aim to restore forests to prevent disasters that experience drought problems and protect surrounding settlements and toll roads from floods. Takuya Okada, as chairman of the AEON Environmental Foundation said that wanting to jointly protect Jakarta from the threat of increasing sea water, for the future of future generations. That is what AEON Environmental Foundation continues to work on & strive for.
